This research presents a sociolinguistic study about the linguistic variation applied to different public contexts of some Andalusian politicians in Madrid: Juan Manuel Moreno, Susana Díaz, José Guirao and María Jesús Montero. In such manner, we will be able to know the linguistic and extralinguistic factors that mark their political speech during the public talks in the capital city. On one hand, we will observe the linguistic changes of these political figures when they come into contact with the normative Spanish in Madrid. On the other hand, we will also work with the speeches that the same politicians carry out in Andalusia in order to study their linguistic behavior in both contexts. Our results prove that there are in fact linguistic variations applied to the public contexts during their discourse. Nevertheless, the use of regional variants, particularly of the Spanish spoken in Andalusia, is still the prevailing one.
