RESEÑA. Lingüística y déficit comunicativos. ¿Cómo abordar las disfunciones verbales?
Abstract
Lingüística y déficit comunicativo. ¿Cómo abordar las disfunciones verbales? is an overview updating the latest trends in clinical linguistics that are being carried out in Spain. This book holds a collection of articles about children's language acquisition, adult speech deficits caused by neuronal damage, study of genuine production of children with cochlear implants, Down Syndrome, X-Fragile or another genetic syndromes and impaired communication skills related to reading and writing complications. The methodological approach is based on the latest advances in corpus linguistics. The treatment of the data from an emic perspective warrants the ecological validity of the productions compiled. The way the natural material is acquired to build corpora is key to later develop language profiles based on phonic, grammatical, pragmatic and socio-interactional analysis. In acting so, deficit productions will appear to have communicative effectiveness and it will help to design linguistic profiles that would improve patients' quality of life.
