El papel de la ficción televisiva en la situación sociolingüística del árabe

Resumen. En este trabajo abordamos la evolución de la variedad de lengua árabe en el medio audiovisual. Sobre todo desde el inicio de las emisiones vía satélite, ya que este nuevo panorama ha conllevado diversos cambios en la situación lingüística del medio audiovisual. Apuntamos el papel clave que han jugado los productos de ficción, concretamente las teleseries. Características de este producto como son la cotidianidad con que las acepta el telespectador, resultado de su emisión diaria, y la verosimilitud y la identificación con el público que pretenden, son cuestiones que se asientan en la base de la realidad lingüística del árabe, la existencia de un lengua culta, frente a los dialectos, por un lado, y por otro, la hegemonía de unos dialectos frente a otros.

The role of television fiction in the sociolinguistic situation of the Arabic language

Abstract. In this work we address the evolution of the Arabic language variety in the audiovisual medium, especially since the beginning of the satellite broadcasts, since this new panorama has brought about several changes in the linguistic situation of the audiovisual medium. We point out the key role played by fiction products, specifically TV series. Som characteristics of this product, such as the daily acceptance by viewers, as a result of their daily broadcast, and the credibility and identification with the target audience, are questions that are based on the linguistic reality of the Arabic language, the existence of a cultured language, as opposed to the dialects, on the one hand, and on the other, the hegemony of some dialects as opposed to others.
